Violin

Victoria Sutherland started learning the violin at the age of four with Galina Turcheninova of the Central School of Music in Moscow. After moving to England she attended Bedales School on a full music scholarship and studied privately with Lydia Mordkovich. In 2001 she began her undergraduate degree at the Moscow Conservatoire studying with M L Iashvilli. Following her studies in Moscow, Victoria took a full time position with the National Orchestra of Malta. She left Malta in 2003 and won a place at the Mozarteum in Salzburg where she studied with Harald Herzl. In 2008 Victoria attained a Distinction for her post-graduate diploma at the Royal Academy of Music where she studied with Lydia Morkovich. She was also awarded a prestigious DipRAM, the Poulet Scholarship and a scholarship from the Clarence Myescough Trust. During her time at the Royal Academy of Music, Victoria was the only RAM violinist to win a place on the LSO Strings Scheme 2006-7. Recently Victoria performed as a soloist at a festival in Hoyos, Spain and at the David Oistrakh Festival in Estonia with the Estonian Youth Orchestra strings and percussion led by conductor Lehari Kaustel.

 Victoria also has recorded 3 albums and has performed world wide as solo violinist with British singer and composer Patrick Wolf.
